What are the must have tools for SEO professionals? How can I find my site’s SERPs position?

SEOmoz.org ( https://moz.com/ )

It has a PRO membership which gives you access to really nice tools. They monitor your rankings each week for up to 250 keywords, they show you how your links are doing compared to 3 competitors. They even crawl your entire site looking for errors that need correcting. You can tie it into your Google Analytics to see snapshots of your traffic as well. They also have a Firefox toolbar that is indispensable for me. It has a SERP overlay that is very helpful.

Another good toolset comes from seobook.com. Their tools are free but you have to register. They also have a toolbar with a couple features not in the mozbar. They also have keyword tools and rank checking tools.

Firebug is a must have firefox addon. If you want to quickly check an HTML element, it sure beats going to view---source and trying to find it.

Bruce Clay has a 30 day free trial of his SEO toolset which is pretty good. Raven also offers a free trial of their tools.

Boostability has the best client reporting tool out there and it helps automate part of the link building process, at least the content finding a part.

It really depends- are you doing SEO for yourself, in-house for a company or at an agency where you report to clients? Depending on what you're doing, different tools will be required.
