Should you AMP-lify your site this 2018?

Well, Google AMP is the latest feature that has been incorporated by Google for ranking the sites in search results through mobile devices.
AMP stands for Accelerated Mobile Pages. This is an open source initiative by Google to enable fast rendering and loading of content on mobile devices. The symbol looks like:
You can easily find this symbol when you make a search through your mobile device. This signifies that a certain website is powered by AMP.
Google AMP is becoming interestingly popular as more than 80% of global online audience accesses the internet through mobile devices i.e. smartphones, iPads, tablets etc.
The web developers are herein required to create mobile-friendly content that loads instantly. Now the catch. Google has officially integrated AMP listings into its mobile search results.
This means that if your website is not powered by Google AMP, it would be devalued in the mobile search results. It would not make any difference when accessed through a laptop or PC, but with mobile devices, it will go down.
Google AMP is speeding up the way web works and so, SEOs must keep a check on this. Google Search Console offers a variety of test including one for AMP. SEOs must check it out from time to time and ask the developers or website managers to make modifications accordingly.
Hope it helps!
