What are progressive web apps (PWA)? Why are we using them?

Progressive Web Apps are next big fix in the native app market. Sooner or later it is going to replace native app completely, companies have already started to shift from the native app. History itself shows new technologies have completely overtaken the older ones. Similar it is going to be with the PWAs and native apps.
Progressive Web App uses modern technologies to deliver a native app-like experience. The best feature of Progressive Web App is its offline feature, i.e. to use a PWA user doesn't need to have any network connection. A PWA works smoothly even in a low network connection.
Here are some of the features of Progressive Web App
1. Offline Support.
2. Push Notification.
3. No app store required.
4. Fast and efficient.
Undoubtedly native apps have a huge market, but they do suffer. Here are some of the downside of a native app.
1. Connectivity Issues: On the low network, the performance degrades.
2. Storage: Consumes a lot of RAM and internal storage.
3. Versioning issue: Low-end phones suffer when the app has a newer update.
Some interesting facts:
1. On an average, a user spends most of the times in only 2 to 3 apps which means the rest of the apps are only available for consuming the phones memory.
2. AliExpress an e-commerce website with a motto “Smarter shopping better living" increases their conversion rate to 104% for new users across all browsers.
3. Flipkart Lite generated a large number of traffic as the re-engagement rate was improved. Flipkart Lite resulted in 3x lower data usage.· 40% higher re-engagement rate.· 70% more conversion rate by “Add to home screen.”
Progressive Web App solves all the major problem faced by the customer and also it helps the business to increase the conversion rate.
